Notes: This recording contains Jacques Brels' two performances at The Olympia. Asked by the manager/owner of The Olympia to fill in for Marlene Dietrich on October 16 & 17, 1961, Jacques Brel created a triumphant concert which broke all box office records for the theatre and was acclaimed a major star. Three years later, October 1964, Brel returned the the Olympia to debut three new songs. The press and fans were estatic. Edith Piaf wrote the liner notes on the original LP release of the 1964 concert. The recoring contains a 20-page booklet with a synopsis of each song, black and white photographs, and an excerpt from Edith Piaf's liner notes to the October 1964 LP.
